Day 53 -

So today I woke up feeling a bit seedy after a long night. I got up and showered and instantly went to the bakery and got some food.

I saw the girls, Sarah and Megan, in my room and sort of planned to check out the city, but that didn’t really happen, because I spent AGES trying to curl my hair with the straightener that I bought, that I can’t get to work! So that was frustrating.

After wasting nearly half the day, I did FINALLY go out and see the town, and my goodness it’s beautiful. It’s a pretty small town so I just wandered around and walked down lots of little streets. I bought my charm for my bracelet, which is a small chunk of moldavite, a stone that is from an asteroid, and is only found is Cesky Krumlov (It’s actually really cool because I have some of it in a ring at home, and I didn’t know that’s where it came from) I eventually came to the castle. It’s the second biggest castle in Europe (next to the Prague castle) but this was so much more impressive. The views were breathtaking (I got lots of pics!) After that I had a small bit of lunch, then headed back to the hostel.

I ran into the girls, and they were chatting to 3 Aussie- Italian guys named Michael, Paul and Matt. We ended up sitting outside with those boys most of the afternoon just drinking, chatting and playing UNO. Matt taught me two card games with Italian cards (they’re different, there is only 40 cards in a deck and the suits are clubs, swords, sun and cups, really weird) the games were really fun and I beat Matt quite a few times lol. The guys ordered some pizza which we all scoffed down, despite the dough being so soggy it looked like an American pizza…

Later on the other guys from the night before, got back to the hostel and we all just had a few drinks and chatted for a while and played some card games in the kitchen. Then everyone decided to go out, but I wasn’t in the mood. So I sat and chilled with Brendan (the guy from the night before who gave me all the history lessons) and his friend, and Michael. We just kept chatting and drinking (I was preeeeeety hammered). After a little while, I went inside to go to the bathroom, and a few people had put a movie on (It was a perfect murder) and I got distracted and ended up watching that lol. By the time it finished, the other guys had gone to bed, but I was still half waiting for the OTHER group to come back (because they said they would only be a few hours) so I went to bed, but left all my clothes on, in case they got home I could just get up again and continue partying (drunk logic, yes I know lol) So they didn’t come home until apparently 4am or something (I went to bed about 2.30) so I was WELL asleep, and woke up in all my clothes this morning…. Little weird. But a very good chilled out day.

now just so everyone can get their head around it I’ll explain everyone I’m about to talk about (because I'm likely to talk about them a lot more) Sarah (aka Shorty) Was the first I met, then Emma, and Megan (who can rock some amazing red lips) and Morgan. Then Ryan (We’re totes BFF) Rob, Pat and Josh. Then I met the Italians Michael, Paul and Matt. Then I met another HUGE group of people all travelling together, their names are hard to follow, but I remember the two girls Al and Lauren (who are travelling with like 7 boys I think) Hope that helps.

Things that made me happy today; Good company, great views.

Things that made me sad today; Being extremely tired and still sore from horse riding all day…

Day 52 - Cesky Kromlov and HORSIES!!!

So today was a travel day, but I only ended up being on the bus for like 3 and a half hours.

We did stop at Maccas, which was awesome because it was early enough for breakfast! And I met some cool girls there.

Almost as soon as I got to the hostel, I went back out again and went for a walk. So Cesky Kromlov is AMAZING! So beautiful! I really really love this place, and wish I was staying longer.

I bought a little something to eat, and came back to the hostel, and ate while watching fight club in the common room.

THEN I went horseback riding with the girls I met at Maccas (they were staying in my room) and one of their friends called Ryan. It was really cool, we got a Taxi there and there were cats and dogs everywhere, and this cute kitten that followed me around because I was patting it (I miss animals so much...) and then we got to the horses. Mine was called Elvis, (fitting because he was kind of fat and VERY lazy, I had to kick him pretty much the whole time to make him move, and this was by instruction of the guide too lol) For trail horses, they were actually BIG horses! But I was way cool with that. So we went for a 2 hour trail ride, it was REALLY pretty! Saw some stuff I’m sure I wouldn’t have had I not had that experience. The only thing I was a bit annoyed by was that because everyone else was such beginners they wouldn’t let us trot or anything, even though everyone was keen to, but that’s ok, it was still fun.

After the horseriding, we went back to the hostel, and I showered and the girls napped, then we all went out to dinner at the restaurant next to our hostel. We all ended up ordering something Mexican, yes I know that sounds weird, but the food was amazing, and I ate every bit.

After this we sat on the terrace of our hostel and chatted to some guys we met that night. We did venture out for about half an hour to find a ‘gypsie’ bar that we were told about, we had a lot of trouble finding it, and when we did, none of were quite3 feeling the vibe. It was VERY local, older age group, and VERY busy. It looked fun, but… Not for that particular night. So we went back and kept drinking and chatting with the other group of guys. They got some fireworks too and let some off in front of the hostel which was pretty funny.

Throughout the night, most people left and went to bed, until it was me and Ryan (who came riding) and some other guy (I don’t think I actually ever caught his name… lol) And we just had a LOT of drunken chats about history and life. Was a good night.

Things that made me happy today; Getting to play with animals.

Things that made me sad today; Not getting to trot lol.

51 – Today I didn’t feel like doing anything, do do do do do do.

So this is going to be one of the most boring blogs I’ve done. I literally did not do a thing today.

I got up and did washing, then I hung my washing, all the while chatting to home.

I then went to the supermarket near my hostel and bought some baguettes, cheese and ham slices, and went to the park to have a little picnic. It was going to be alone, but Ben was at the park, so I shared with him.

After this I went back to my room and packed my bag.

Then I hung around for QUITE a while doing nothing, playing games on my phone.

Later on I went to dinner with Ben, we both got told about a place that does good ribs, so we ordered those, and both demolished them, and then went looking for desert, but it was too late.

So I showered and went to bed.

Good day, but kinda boring…

Things that made me happy today; Um….. Clean clothes?

Things that made me sad today; No desert

Day 50 - Non-shopping

So today I TRIED to sleep in, but It was so hot and sunny in our room, I got until 8.30... I didn't wake up hungover at all though, so that was a good thing.

Reshae and Emma left today on busabout, but I organised with Ben to get up and go shopping.

So we caught the tram into the main square at about 11am (neither of us having had breakfast, this is an important plot in this story lol) We went to the main shopping plaza (stopping through a small food market on the way) there were HEAPS of shops in the plaza, but they were all SOOOO expensive, one shop I go to all the time at home, the prices were almost double! So we were bascailly heading out, when I got stopped by one of those guys selling stuff in the middle of a shoping centre. Anmyway, he ended up selling me a hair straightner, lol, it curled my hair REALLY well and was only $100 au, so cheap. (I only stopped because I was actually looking for another one) And he told us about a place called 'fashion plaza' you had to catch a train then a free bus ran to get you out there, bascailly like a DFO. So off we went.

The train was the easy part, and knowing WHERE to catch the bus was easy, but the bus took about an hour. Ben and I were STARVING by this point. So the bus FINALLY came, and as soon as we got there we found the food court and ATE. I had sweet and sour prawns, was amazing. Then we had ice cream, THEN we shopped.

Well, Ben shopped.... The shop selection was shit... Apart from a few lingerie shops (that I didn't go into anyway) and a Lindt shop, that i also didn't go into, because... well I've eaten my fair share of chocolate on this trip...

So I literally didn't buy a THING. Ben bought a few things, but not too many. It wasn't really worth the trip, but oh well. We then headed back to the main square and had had some honey cake and tea, was sooo delicious.

Then we wandered around and checked out some cool buildings, and walked around another food market, but we were sooo stuffed we couldn't eat anything.

We then went to a supermarket to buy some basics, I bought some hair dye in a pretty similar colour (first time I've seen it so I snapped it up) and some milk... which wasn't real milk :( We then headed back to the hostel.

I pretty much sat around and had a nap.. nothing special, then I was in the common room on the net, and Ben asked if I wanted to go to dinner because he had heard of a place with epic spare ribs. So we headed there. First we went into the wrong place, they didn't even serve food. Then we did find it, and saw them bring out a HUGE plate of ribs to someone like a second after we sat down, THEN we got told the kitchen was closed... MASSIVE let down... So we went somewhere else, and I was still TOTALLY stuffed, so I got a small side of mashed potatoes, but Ben got a pork knee. It was HUGE! He ate I'd say... about 90% of it. Fair effort for someone who wasn't even hungry lol.

Anyway after this we headed home, i showered and went to bed. It was overall a good day, we saw lots.

Things that made me happy today; All day lasting curls (in my hair lol, that have infact lasted a sleep too! now I just have to learn how to use it)

Things that made me sad today; Missing out on ribs :(

Day 49 - Beer and bones

So today I got up early with Reshae and Emma and we went n the beer and bones tour offered here through the hostel.

So we rocked up early, and the bus ended up being over booked, but it was ok, because we were the first ones there, so we got on. It was only 8 people and the tour guide, so pretty small group.

We drove for about an hour and a half and rocked up at the church that's decorated with over 40,000 human bones. It was AWESOME! There is a whole chandelier made of human bones, and a code of arms, and just all these awesome things. I got a LOT of pictures.

Next we drove for about 10 minutes and arrived at this cool little town and went to a restaurant. We had some food, I had beef goulash with dumplings, it was sooooo good, and then we tasted about 6 or 7 local beers. Most of them were pretty good. We also tried a few traditional liquors, one tasted like chai tea, and the other like petrol...

After this we went to a church, and got some ice cream, then we headed home. It was a really awesome tour.

When we got back to the hostel, Emma, Reshae and I chilled for a little while, then decided to go to dinner. I met up with a guy I met in Berlin called Ben, and I invited him along. We went just down the road form our hostel to a Chinese restaurant. it was dingy as, but the food was AMAZING! It was just what I needed.

After dinner, we went to the bar at our hostel and had a few drinks... by a few I mean I had 6 long island ice teas... Yeah I was HAMMERED (apologies to anyone I tagged in that photo...) . but I also discovered I'm awesome at pool when I'm drunk (like pretty much everyone lol)

Then we got abused by some shitty staff member about being too loud... I'm going to write an angry letter!

All in all a REALLY awesome day!

Things that made me happy today; Long island ice tea

Things that made me sad today; Shit hostel staff

Day 48 - Prague castle

So today, the three of us, Reshae, Emma and myself, all slept in until like 12, then, hungover and extreeeeeemely hungry caught aq tram into the old part of town near the castle.

First we stopped for food. I had cordon blue, its a fancy name for a chicken kiev, but it was good.

After food we missioned to Prague castle. It was quite a steep hike. Nothing like the Jesus statue in San Seb, but still quite a mission. We did make it to the top, and walked through what we THOUGHT was the Castle, but it looked nothing like a castle? As there were no street signs anywhere around the outside of the castle, I couldn't situate myself on the map. The girls felt that it was higher up on the hill, so, after bascailly napping in a park on some awesome grass for probably close to an hour, we walked further, but alas, no, we ran into a tram line and I could figure out where we were, and the giant unimpressive building we were in earlier WAS indeed the castle. So we walked back.

So Prague castle is apparently the biggest castle in Europe... However, it looks nothing like a castle. It is HUGE, but its kind of a mini city, that can claim itself as a 'castle' because its all joined, and 'technically' one building. I was unimpressed apart from the pretty cool gothic cathedral in the middle. but at least I saw it to be able to judge it lol.

After this we got some ice cream, and made our way back to the hostel. We didn't really do much at the hostel... We went online for quite a while, then hung out in Reshae and Emma's room. Fiona and Holly who I met in Amsterdam are also here, and were in the room too, so we had a bit of a chat

I got REALLY hungry around like 11pm, so we went to the restaurant at the hostel and I got some gnocchi and the girls got some pizzas.

After this I went to bed.

All in all a good day, I'm glad I saw the castle so I can say that it was pretty crap lol.

Things that made me happy today; Gnocchi that tasted like Mario's :) Reminded me of home. And laying in the park in AMAZING weather.

Things that made me sad today; A big town of buildings all joined together claiming itself as the biggest castle in Europe...

Day 47 - Prague

So today was a travel day on the bus, but we made it to Prague by like 2.30pm, so it was a pretty short day.

We checked into my amazingly cheap and awesome hostel. Probably one of the best I've stayed in so far. Then I met up with a few girls I met in Berlin and we caught the tram into town.

We sat down and had some traditional Czech food. The girls had really meaty pork dishes, but I had cheese and spinach pancakes. They were so good. And soooooo cheap. The beer was ridiculously cheap.

After that we wandered around and looked in heaps of jewelery shops, then decided to get a bottle of Absinthe and get drunk at the hostel (because the Czech Republic is one of VERY few places left that are allowed to make Absinthe the traditional way.

So bascailly we played lots of card and drinking games in my room, and got wasted, but not awfully, considering between us we drank the whole bottle...

It was a pretty fun day actually. Lots of fun and good food.

Things that made me happy today; Cheap Czech beer and alcohol.

Things that made me sad today; Not seeing the green fairy.
